Christopher Cook is an award-winning investigative journalist and the author of Diet for a Dead Planet: Big Business and the Coming Food Crisis. He has written extensively on agribusiness, food policy, the environment, labor, and social justice issues for a wide array of national publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Harper’s, The Atlantic, The Economist, Mother Jones, The Christian Science Monitor, The Nation, The American Prospect, and others. Christopher is a contributing writer for The Progressive magazine, and former city editor of the San Francisco Bay Guardian. He has also worked as a reporter for The Oakland Tribune, United Press International, and other daily outlets.
Christopher also works as a research and writing consultant for numerous national institutions, including Oxfam America, Friends of the Earth, Food First, Natural Resources Defense Council, and others. In this capacity, he has written reports on climate change and the food industry, agroecology, food industry labor abuses, and other topics.
